Vancouver Island's All Voices Chorus
Rising Tide is a no audition, all-voice, a cappella chorus of approximately 25 members, based in mid-Vancouver Island, British Columbia.Our mission is to have fun while realising the exhilaration of blending four voice parts, ringing in glorious harmony.
Our Playlist features a wide variety of songs from many eras and we especially love popular tunes from the 50’s, 60’s and 70's. We are led by Artistic Director, Mac Dallman, a 50-year veteran of 4-part, a cappella harmony, and Education Director, James Chappell, a highly- accomplished musician and retired professional music teacher.
The Chorus has a close affiliation with Nanaimo’s own Tidesmen A Cappella (male voice) Chorus, and we enjoy members in common. Both Choruses are members of a local Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, in recognition of the historic origins and style of some of our repertoire.
Rising Tide rehearses most Sunday afternoons from 1:30pm to 4:30pm in Lantzville, just north of Nanaimo. Prospective members and casual visitors are always welcome to visit our rehearsals; please call our Membership Coordinator, Sheila at (425) 233-5767.
